About OncAware
Pattern Recognition and Clinical Reasoning Tool for How Cancer Can Present
This platform is an interactive educational oncology tool and resource developed by medical students at Queen's University to support pattern recognition and clinical reasoning in cancer presentation.
We focus on explainability, evidence-informed reasoning, and important clinical trends, which may help other medical students, learners, patients, or concerned family members understand early features of cancer, its associated symptoms or risk factors, and when it might be less likely.
The goal is to create a concise handbook-style reference that is accessible, engaging, and easy to navigate. The content is not exhaustive and should be supplemented with further reading for more detail.
Inside the App
The app integrates symptom patterns, risk factors, prevalence estimates, probability tools, and visual comparison frameworks to help users explore how cancers may present across organ systems.
However, many estimates are synthesized or inferred from multiple literature sources, which may involve different study populations, methodologies, and non-independent datasets.
Certain feature weightings, ratings, and visual comparison tools also involve subjective interpretation.
This tool is intended for educational purposes only and does not replace physician assessment, clinical judgment, or medical evaluation.
